Gloria Klaube

Gloria Klaube, age 77, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, of Westminster, Colorado, passed away in Louisville, Colorado on Friday, January 9, 2015 surrounded by family, after a courageous fight with cancer. Gloria was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico on October 15, 1937 and was the youngest of 7 siblings. She attended school in Albuquerque and married her husband in 1963. From 1955-1971 she worked as a hair stylist before becoming a full time mother and homemaker. Gloria moved to Colorado in 1990 and began a 20 year career at JCPennys. Gloria enjoyed music and dancing, was an avid reader and was a huge tennis and hockey fan, especially her Colorado Avalanche. She loved to travel and cook but especially loved spending time with friends and family. Her unconditional love for her entire family was incredible. She was a friend to everyone, and somebody that so many people would go to for advice, emotional support, wisdom and a good laugh. She kept her youthful sense of humor until her last day, and it was always easy to get a smile out of her. Gloria is survived by her husband of 51 years, Gernot ""Mike"" Klaube; daughters, Anna Klaube (son in law, Rich), Brigitte Klaube (son in law, Ron); grandchildren, Chrissy Nolting (grandson in law, Jed), Austin Hackett-Klaube and Kyle Taylor; brothers, Polo Griego and Jake Griego; sisters, Liz Candelaria, Antonia Lovato and Lou Quintana; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews. Gloria is preceded in death by her parents, Ismael and Anna Maria Griego; and brother Quirino Espalin. A Memorial Service in Gloria's honor will be Tuesday, January 13, 2015, 3:00 PM, all at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 7577 West 80th Avenue, in Arvada, Colorado.
