Genevieve Schmidt

January 3, 1920 — June 24, 2015

Genevieve Schmidt was born in Chicago, Illinois January 3rd, 1920. Died in Aurora, Colorado June 24th, 2015. She is survived by her daughter Lynette (Toby) Roth and grandsons, Travis and Gannon Roth, her son Thomas (Jennifer) Schmidt, Grandsons by law Alex Meinert Patrick Meinert, Russell William Meinert III (Trey) (Amanda), Great Grandkids by law Haleigh Meinert, Gracey Meinert, Kiera Meinert, Evan Meinert, and her older sister, Irene McIlroy. The family wishes for you to not to mourn her passing, but rather to celebrate the person she was and the long and wonderful life she had. Family was most important to her. Also dear to her were her friends and the enjoyment she received from her interests in life which included cooking, golf, playing bridge, and reading. Gene loved living in the same town as both of her children and grandchildren, but she also loved Florida and the time she spent there over the years. Age and ailments took away, one by one, many of her activities, but Gene accepted her limitations with grace and dignity, always with a smile on her face and never complaining. God granted her wish that she would die in her own home with family by her side. Genevieve will be terribly missed by her family, but her legacy of love will be with them forever. Services Wednesday July 1st 2015 at 10AM at the Church of the Risen Christ at 3060 S. Monaco Parkway, reception at family home in Lone Tree after the service, address and directions to reception will be provided at the Church. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the charity of your choice or the American Heart Association.
