Ellen Kathleen Stallos drew her last breath on January 28, 2018, succumbing to pulmonary fibrosis. Ellen, the daughter of the late Henry and Margaret Cormier, was born on May 8, 1942, in Detroit, Michigan. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, George, daughter Samantha ( Jerred ) Pauwels of Bettendorf, Iowa, grandchildren -- George, Annie and Peter Pauwels, sisters Anne (Jim) Dunlap of Dearborn, Michigan and Mary Coon of Clare, Michigan, sister-in-law Dianne Stallos of Denver, Colorado and several nieces and nephews.

Ellen was a graduate of Marygrove College and taught elementary school after graduation and during the early years of her marriage. Ellen, George and Samantha resided in Birmingham, Michigan except for periods of foreign and domestic assignments associated with George's work that took them to Mexico, Brazil, Australia and San Francisco. In 2013, they moved from their home in Hillsborough, California to return to George's hometown of Denver. With each move, Ellen was excited by the challenges of establishing a new home for the family and with her sweet and lovely presence she made new friends with ease--truly cherishing the gift of friendship that each one gave to her. Ellen's strong Catholic upbringing and unwavering faith in God inspired her to volunteer her time and talents to many worthy causes everywhere she lived and to find ways to make life more enjoyable and pleasant for all persons she met in her many activities and interests.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, February 5th at 1:00 PM at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 2626 East 7th Avenue Parkway in Denver. Interment will be at Fairmount Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in the name of Ellen Stallos to the National Jewish Hospital in Denver to assist in its continued research into cures for pulmonary fibrosis.
