Edie Graves of Henderson, Colorado departed peacefully at Denver Hospice on October 4, 2014 with her daughters by her side. Edie was born in 1935 in Germany. In 1950 she immigrated to the United States with her mother, father, two sisters and brother. Ultimately, they settled in Mankato, Minnesota where she graduated from Mankato High School. In 1956 she married James Lindeen. They moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota where their first child, Cindy was born in 1957. Shortly thereafter they moved to Denver, Colorado and in 1960 their second daughter, Sally was born. She married Arlon Graves In 1984. Edie loved her family and spent her time primarily as a homemaker. She delighted in the outdoors and the mountains of Colorado where she often enjoyed picnicking, hiking, and camping. Entertaining, cooking, baking, traveling, and singing were also favorite hobbies. Her church was important to her as she served on altar guild and for more than 40 years sang in the choir. Overall, she loved life and it was always apparent in her contagious smile. She is preceded in death by her husband, Arlon and one sister, Linda Krohn. She is survived by her two daughters, Cindy (Kenneth) Martin and Sally (David) Meier; two step-daughters Christy (Stace) Guinn and Arlene (Jon) Henderson; five grandchildren, Curtis (Kimberly) Meier, Austin Martin, Brendan Meier, Lauren Martin, and Travis Meier; three step-grandchildren, Joey Shearer (Domanic Guzman), Jason (Samantha) Shearer, and Kyle Henderson; two siblings Helga (George) Haedt and Egon (Eunice) Mutzke and many nieces and nephews. A service celebrating Edie's life will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2014 at 4:00 pm at Advent Lutheran Church, 7979 Meade Street, Westminster, CO 80030. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her name to: Advent Lutheran Church, 7979 Meade Street, Westminster, Colorado 80030 -or- The Denver Hospice, 501 South Cherry Street, Suite 700, Denver, Colorado 80246, www.thedenverhospice.org.
