Eddie Crean

February 10, 1971 — June 30, 2014

Eddie Crean was a man who approached life with a twinkle in his blue eyes and a sense of adventure in his heart. Born in Limerick, Ireland on February 10, 1971, to parents John and Theresa Crean, Eddie created a life full of friendship and travel. He was always happiest before heading out on the road with friends, whether that meant a trip across the world or the pub down the street. Eddie's feet touched every state in the U.S., and every county in Ireland. A true explorer, Eddie traveled to Australia, Nepal, India and the base camp of Mt. Everest. He trekked to Machu Picchu, hiked his beloved mountains of Colorado, and summited Mt. Kilimanjaro. With a backpack in tow, Eddie hiked, camped and rode his motorcycle to the worlds' most beautiful places. He loved mountaintops and seaside vistas and sought out remote sites including the Galápagos Islands, New Zealand, Cork, Thailand, and Hawaii. Fiercely loyal, Eddie would rearrange his schedule to meet a friend no matter where his travels took him. He leaves friends around the world who will never forget his famous smile, or his own signature ribbing. Eddie was also immensely proud of the young man his son Mark became. He cherished the adventures they had together. For close to 20 years, Eddie worked at Gentle Giant Moving and Storage in Boston, Mass. It was there he got the nickname ""Fast"" Eddie Crean. (Though if it was with respect to his way with the ladies, his moving speed or perhaps even lack of moving speed, no one quite remembers.) A great athlete, Eddie rowed at the Shannon Rowing Club in Ireland and completed countless marathons and triathlons, including an Ironman in 2010 at Lake Placid. A huge soccer fan, Eddie supported Manchester United and attended as many games as he could. He also tried to grow that support and children often received Manchester United gear as gifts from their beloved Uncle Eddie. Eddie had recently moved to Denver, Colo. with his true love, Christina Trotta, and they were excited to start their newest adventure together with their dog, Bosco. Eddie is survived by his parents; his son Mark; girlfriend Christina; sisters Linda and Stephanie; brothers-in-law Shane and Alan, nephews Séan, Thomas, and Niall; niece Louise; and family and friends all over the world. Eddie will be forever missed by those who love him. Please share your memories of Eddie and condolences with his family by signing the guestbook.
