DeVee Lushbough

DeVee Marie Lushbough, 80 passed away on May 19, 2018, at her home in Aurora, CO. DeVee was born on August 24, 1937, in Murdo, SD to Joseph H. and Mae DesJarlais. She married her high school sweetheart Clifford Philip Lushbough in Sturgis, SD on August 12, 1956. Raised in Sturgis SD, graduating from Sturgis High School in 1955 and she attended Augustana College in Sioux Falls, SD for one year. DeVee moved with Cliff to Aurora Colorado in 1956 where they spent 58 wonderful years in the same home. She spent 29 years in the Aurora Public School system and then had jobs with many hats, working at a dentist, bank and Aurora school Credit Union. DeVee had a great love for life she enjoyed traveling with Cliff and friends to places all over the world from Canada to Central America and across the sea to Ireland, England, Egypt, and on to New Zealand and Australia. One of her favorite trips was to the Galápagos Islands to see the blue-footed booby. DeVee volunteered for the Adams County Historical Museum, where she worked with the Christmas Tea and Mother’s Day Tea and etc. Some of her passions were the Denver children’s zoo program and the Wild Animal Sanctuary in Colorado. DeVee is survived by her husband Cliff, brother-in-law Ross Lushbough, sister-in-law Sylvia DesJarlais, her nieces Tami DesJarlais, Mary Irby, Sara Lushbough and Christin Hunter, and nephews Joe DesJarlais and Scott DesJarlais. She is a great aunt to many. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Joe E DesJarlais.
