DeAnn Ball

November 22, 1958 — May 27, 2015

On May 27, 2015, DeAnn was called to heaven, having passed away from cancer at the young age of 56. DeAnn was a Colorado native and the first-born child of Dennis Lee Campbell and Philomena Gerace Finnell. DeAnn grew up in the Denver Area graduating from Arapahoe High School in 1976. She met her sweetheart Gregory Ball at church, tying the knot on March 18, 1977. In January 1981, they were blessed with their first child, a daughter, Jennifer; followed by their son, Jason, in December, 1982. A natural mother, DeAnn always put her children first. After her children grew older and became more independent, she went back to school and achieved her Accounting and Marketing degrees from CU Denver in 1994. Her only grandchild, Austin Ball, was born on October 7, 2003; the light of her life. She is survived by her husband, children and her grandchild, Grandmother Esther Gerace, Father Dennis Campbell, Sister Donna Blasczyk (David), Step-siblings Debbie Brandhorst (Tom), Kathy Cox, and Kenneth Finnell (Paige) and numerous Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. DeAnn was preceded in death by her mother, Philomena, and her brother, Dennis Lee Campbell Jr. DeAnn worked with her mother and the Gerace Family at Welby Gardens Co Inc and Country Fair Garden Center in the accounting departments for over 20 years. She then worked briefly for companies TIC, Gambro and Air Methods during the last few years of her life where she made many wonderful friends. DeAnn loved her dogs, being in the outdoors, biking with her grandson, and hiking with friends and family. She became well known for having some of the most beautiful gardens in her neighborhood, inspiring friends and neighbors to join her in her passion. She was loved by her friends for her gentle nature, honest heart, and sweet disposition. The family would like to express their great appreciation to all their friends and family for all their love and support during these trying times. The family would also like to thank the staffs at Collier Hospice, Swedish Hospital and Rocky Mountain Gynecologic Oncology Center for their constant care and attention to DeAnn during her final days.
