Bryan Cross

March 23, 1950 — June 14, 2017

Bryan Lee Cross, age 67, passed away in Golden, Colorado on June 14, 2017. Bryan was born in March 1950 in Los Angeles, California to Wendell Cross and Patricia (Welsh) Cross. He grew up with his brother Gregory in Westminster and Fort Collins, Colorado. Bryan graduated from Colorado State University in 1972 with a bachelor’s degree in psychology, followed by graduate study in business and finance. He started his career in the personnel department of Allstate Insurance Company in Denver, where he worked until 1978. He initially worked with his father, and eventually he and his brother built and ran a manufacturing company in Arvada, Colorado. Bryan married Jill Renée (Lindner) Cross in June, 1978 in Littleton, Colorado. They were very much in love and happily married for 39 years. They resided in a beautiful foothills community of Colorado. Bryan and Jill raised two fine sons, Jason Andrew, and Daniel Geoffrey. Bryan was extremely proud of his sons and loved them deeply. Always intellectually curious and highly intelligent, Bryan enjoyed studying Christianity, which deepened his faith. He studied and enjoyed philosophy and was always ready for a lively, friendly debate on any topic. He made friends easily with his gracious, kind personality, sprinkled with just the right amount of humor. He was a remarkable, gentle man, and will be greatly missed as he was loved by many. Bryan and Jill enjoyed road trips and walking in their scenic mountain neighborhood. Bryan enjoyed meeting one on one with people over coffee or breakfast. He preferred a deep conversation to a casual one, was a wonderful listener, and made people feel right at home when they met him. Bryan and Jill attended Lookout Mountain Community Church for many years, followed by Bergen Park Church in Evergreen most recently. Bryan quietly and generously did frequent community outreach to people in the Denver area: Immigrant families, the poor, the addicted, and those otherwise in need of support or financial assistance. He is survived by his spouse, sons Jason and Daniel, daughter-in-law Sarah Lowenstein, brother Gregory, brother-in-law Jeff Lindner, sisters-in-law Diana Hall and Chelsea Lindner, and many nieces and nephews.
