Brad Poer passed away on December 16, 2012. Brad is survived by his wife, Darah Smith (53), of Lakewood, CO; his mother, Izetta Creel (79) of Sun City, AZ; his sister, Carla Poer Bailey (57) of Lakewood, CO; his son, Nick Poer (23), of Castle Rock, CO; his son, Brandon Poer (21), of Castle Rock, CO; his sons' mother, Treylane Poer (57), of Castle Rock, CO; his step-daughter, Briana Felton (21), of Lakewood, CO Brad graduated from Green Mountain High School, Lakewood, CO, in 1975. Brad attended Ft. Lewis College in Durango, CO until 1978. In 1978, Brad went to work for In-Line Traffic Marking and worked in that industry until his death. During his career, Brad served two consecutive terms (1991-1998) as the Chairman of the Pavement Marking Committee of the American Traffic Safety Services Association (ATSSA). As one of the industry's most knowledgeable and dedicated advocates, Brad appeared before state legislatures to convince lawmakers of the importance of quality, maintained pavement markings. Furthermore, Brad provided significant input into the development of national standards and specifications for pavement marking through the National Committee on Uniform Traffic Control Devices and the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices. Brad was frequently asked to speak at conferences, which led him to develop a Pavement Marking Technician Traning and Certification program. Awards: ATSSA President's Award on February 12, 1994 ATSSA Pavement Marking Committee's first Mark of Excellence Award in 1996 Services will be on Friday, December 28, 2012 at 2:30 PM at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 3101 South Wadsworth Boulevard, Lakewood, Colorado, 80227. A reception will follow the service on December 28, 2012 at 3:30 PM at Horan & McConaty Reception Center, 3101 South Wadsworth Boulevard, Lakewood, Colorado, 80227.
