Bill Barkow

October 21, 1948 — December 24, 2014

Bill Barkow, the son of Fred and Betty (Cordry) Barkow, was born October 21, 1948, in Indianapolis, IN. He departed this life Wednesday, December 24, 2014 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Lafayette CO., at the age of 66 years, following a courageous battle with cancer. When he was growing up, his family lived in many different states. His father worked as a salesman for B.F. Goodrich and his job moved them around the country. Bill graduated from Shawnee Mission North High school in Overland Park, KS. He attended University of Wisconsin in Madison and obtained a certificate as an advertising specialist. Bill worked in the screen-printing/graphics and advertising industry, when he was introduced to his wife Judy. They were married on July 4th and were together for more than 30 years. Bill loved the beach, and his job allowed him and his wife to travel often. He made their business trips so special; they became very fond memories for Judy. He enjoyed boats and cars. In his spare time he tinkered in woodworking and home repair and building models. He is preceded in death by his parents, and his sister Linda. He is survived by his wife Judy; children William Barkow II and Andrew Barkow (Mark); step-daughter Sarah; grandchildren Jake, Joanna, Leah; sister-in-law Jennifer; nieces Jody and Julie and many friends whom he considered as family. Memorial services will be held Tuesday, Dec. 30 at 4:30pm, at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel 7577 W 80th Ave, Arvada. In lieu of flowers, we feel Bill would want random acts of kindness to be done in his name. Please share your memories of Bill and condolences with his family by signing the guestbook below.
