Betty Hoyt, 91, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2018 after a visit with her family.
Betty was born on January 8, 1927 in Iowa. Betty worked for Golden State Bank and for Coors Brewery, and later owned and worked at her family’s print shop, Pro Insta Print, in Wheat Ridge, Colorado.

Betty was an extraordinary person with a passion for life and love for her husband, kids, grandkids, great-grandkids, friends and neighbors. She loved NASCAR, bowling, and the Denver Broncos, and up until a few years ago, when Alzheimer’s got the best of her, could still talk to you about specific NASCAR drivers past and present, car numbers, and sponsors of her favorite drivers. And she had a lot of them. She also had a few that she couldn’t stand, which she was happy to tell you about and the reasons she didn’t like them! Up until she went into assisted living in 2012, she was bowling on 3 leagues per week, and was an excellent and avid bowler. She was also still shooting baskets in her driveway with the neighborhood kids well into her 80’s. She and Ped were the best matched couple I have ever known, and loved each other deeply. They were both very young at heart, lived life to its fullest, cared about their friends and family, and were always ready for a good time, or to help anyone in need. Betty also enjoyed going out to eat Mexican food, and drinking margaritas, Coors Light, and Pepsi with Amaretto (or rum, or whiskey, or just about anything else). She enjoyed her cocktails!

Betty was fortunate to have been cared for by the caring and compassionate staff at Mountain Vista Health Center for the past three years, and more recently by Brookdale Hospice. They all loved her, and provided her with a great quality of life, companionship and care in her final years. The family is very grateful to them for the care and genuine concern they provided for our mom.

Betty is survived by her sons, Joe (Gayle) and Perry (Tracy), her grandsons, Garrett (Aly) and Lee (Jennie), and great-grandchildren, Caden, Spencer, Shackleton, Micah, and Emerson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ped, and her mom, Ruby.

In the road of life, in times good and bad, we ride easier with the knowledge that God travels the same path, ever available for guidance, instruction, and comfort. In His love and in His Word, we run the most important race of all.

Betty - Go fast, turn left, and rest in peace . . . . .

There will be a private committal at Fort Logan National Cemetery.
