Allen Ziegelmeier

April 6, 1920 — January 13, 2015

M. Allen Ziegelmeier M. Allen Ziegelmeier, son of Joseph and Fern (Jones) Ziegelmeier, was born April 6, 1920 in Gem, Kansas. Allen attended school and graduated from Gem High School. While in school, he enjoyed sports and was a member of the Gem basketball team. After high school, Allen attended the Univerity of Colorado, Boulder, and earned a degree in Civil Engineering. Upon graduating, Allen was drafted into the United States Navy and served as Electronic Technician's Mate 3rd Class, USNR. He was honorably discharged July 2, 1946. September 25, 1955, Allen was united in marriage to DeLoris Notbohm in the Salem Evangelical United Brethren Church in Sumner, Iowa. The couple moved to Lakewood, Colorado where they made their home for over 50 years. While living in the Lakewood area, Allen was employed by Paden Engineering Company and remained with them until retirement. Those left to cherish his memory include: One sister, Eloise Russell of Mesa, Arizona, one niece, Rhonda and her husband Jim Rosenboom of Primghar, Iowa, one great nephew, Nicholas Rosenboom and his wife Kelley, their daughter Emma and son Tyler of Muscatine, Iowa, and one great neice, Ann Marie Rich and her husband lucas, their daughter Sloan, of Lakewood, Colorado. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife DeLoris.
